The Mid Valley Spartans's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Lakeland Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Mid Valley came up short against Riverside and fell 48-37.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Elise Larson, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Chiara Zavislak, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, sadly, Lakeland is still looking for their first win of the season after seven matches. They took a serious blow against Dunmore two weeks ago, falling 68-18. While losing is never fun, Lakeland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 597th, while Dunmore is ranked 110th).
Mid Valley's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8. As for Lakeland, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.
Everything came up roses for Mid Valley against Lakeland in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 56-25 win. Will Mid Valley repeat their success, or does Lakeland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
