On Thursday, the Millersburg Indians's game was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Tri-Valley by a score of 45-38. Given Millersburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while Tri-Valley is ranked 630th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Millersburg's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Miller, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 19 rebounds. Miller set a new season high mark in steals with five. Another player making a difference was Jana Strait, who scored nine points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Tri-Valley saw an underclassman step up: Avery Miller scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for her. Grace Header was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
