Baseball Recap: Flintridge Prep Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Flintridge Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. Everything went their way against the Salesian Mustangs on Wednesday as they made off with a 7-1 win. That's more bragging rights for the Wolves, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Nicholas Aparicio was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Ethan Park was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1.

Flintridge Prep has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Salesian, their loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-14.

Flintridge Prep and Salesian could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Wolves (ranked 844th) will meet Glendora (ranked 208th) at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Salesian will face off against Bishop Montgomery at 6:00 p.m. on the 29th with a big rank disadvantage (819 vs. 373).
