Peyton Harrison and Helaina Magistro made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Harrison pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Magistro didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. At bat, Harrison went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run, while Magistro earned one run and two stolen bases. Those two hits gave Harrison a new career-high.
In other batting news, Villa Rica got a massive performance out of Sophia Plagemann, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Plagemann has posted since September 4th. Another player making a difference was Ryann Ackles, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Villa Rica's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Rome, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rome has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Villa Rica struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
