Leading Nueva Esperanza to victory were Glorivee Moreno and Destiny Santiago . Moreno scored 12 points, while Santiago scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Adriana Burgos , who scored six points.
Mariana Bracetti Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justice Stanton, who scored six points along with 14 rebounds and seven steals. Giabella Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Nueva Esperanza's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-0. As for Mariana Bracetti Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
