Moorpark and Royal are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2022, but likely not for long. The Musketeers will be playing at home against the Highlanders at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Royal took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Moorpark, who comes in off a win.
Moorpark's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Oak Park with a sharp 10-0 win. The contest marked the Musketeers' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Carson Cerny made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Cerny was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Moorpark got a big performance out of AJ Mai, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, Mai posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Tutino, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.
Moorpark kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Royal entered their game against Paraclete on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Highlanders fell 5-1 to the Spirits. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Highlanders couldn't push the score so high this time.
Royal saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Hewitt, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Royal's defeat dropped their record down to 14-3. As for Moorpark, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
