California had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 51-32 win over Foothill. Given California's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Foothill is ranked 171st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
California relied on the efforts of Taylor Lim, who scored nine points along with five blocks, and Trinity Chu, who scored 18 points along with three steals. Chu is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Anika Maral was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, Dougherty Valley came up short against Monte Vista on Thursday and fell 61-49.
California is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Dougherty Valley, their loss was their 12th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-15.
