The Oxnard Yellowjackets will venture away from home to square off against the Oak Park Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Oxnard has five straight victories, Oak Park has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Oxnard is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Foothill Tech on Thursday as they made off with a 12-3 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Jordan Raya and Jerry Gonzales made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Raya pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Gonzales pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Raya went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI, while Gonzales went 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Gonzales has hit this season.

In other batting news, Jordan Garcia was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lincoln Calzadillas, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one double.
Oxnard kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Oak Park came up short against Agoura on Saturday and fell 8-3.
Oak Park also got a good showing from Alex Lee, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, Lee gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2025.
At the plate, Oak Park saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Kutsch, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Oak Park's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Oxnard, their record now sits at 7-9.
Oxnard skirted past Oak Park 9-8 in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellowjackets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
