Camarillo had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 10-13 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They skirted past the Oak Park Eagles 6-4. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 9-1 win on Wednesday.
Anders Baldwin looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zackary Martinez, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Isaac Elizondo, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Camarillo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
As for Oak Park, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-17. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since April 21, 2025.
On Oak Park's side, Tyler Kutsch put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. What's more, Kutsch gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Kutsch wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Matt Leehey, who went 1-for-5 with one RBI.
Coming up, Camarillo will take on Simi Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Oak Park, they will be playing at home against Fillmore at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
