The Forest Hills Rangers entered their tilt with the Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Forest Hills came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of 55-46 on Wednesday. Given Forest Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 196th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Forest Hills was led to victory by Olivia Mcleary and Alexis Henderson. Mcleary scored ten points, while Henderson scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Anna Burkey, who scored ten points.
Despite the defeat, Bellwood-Antis had strong showings from Jenna Norton, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five steals, and Lilly Gerwert, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Gerwert hasn't dropped below three blocks for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lainey Quick, who scored five points along with six assists.
Forest Hills pushed their record up to 15-3 with that victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Bellwood-Antis, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-8.
Forest Hills will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mountaineers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Philipsburg-Osceola comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Bellwood-Antis, they will head out on the road to take on the Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
