Basketball Recap: Aubrey Aldan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ridgeview over Shafter

Ridgeview lost against Shafter back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Ridgeview Wolf Pack fell just short of the Shafter Generals by a score of 54-52. While losing is never fun, the Wolf Pack can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 616th, while the Generals are ranked 168th).

Ridgeview lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Aubrey Aldan, who posted 17 points. Aldan's morning made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nyla Jackson, who earned 13 points.

Ridgeview has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Shafter, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Ridgeview has already played their next game, a 43-38 victory against Morro Bay on the 28th. As for Shafter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 61-39 win against Sanger on the 28th.
