Butte Valley has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. Having just played yesterday, they will get right back to it and host the Dunsmuir Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on February 6th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Butte Valley scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They breezed by Happy Camp on the road to the tune of 100-2. Butte Valley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Meanwhile, Dunsmuir had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 47-27 margin over Surprise Valley. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Dunsmuir has managed all season.
Dunsmuir's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cyla Clemens, who almost dropped a triple-double on 24 points, nine rebounds, and ten steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Clemens has scored at least a third of Dunsmuir's points. Abby Powell was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Butte Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Dunsmuir, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9.
Everything came up roses for Butte Valley against the Tigers in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 53-23 victory. Will Butte Valley repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
