A total of 16 teams join the MaxPreps California Regional Bowl Game matchups with St. Mary's (Stockton, Calif.) debuting as one of the North 1AA selections.

St. Mary's routed Central Catholic (Modesto, Calif.) 49-0, handing the Raiders their second loss in a row - the first time Central Catholic had lost two in a row since 2010. Central Catholic opened the game without 19 starters, who sat out the first half due to disciplinary reasons, according to the Modesto Bee.

St. Mary's takes over the North 1AA regional spot from Elk Grove, which defeated Lincoln (Stockton) 65-12 last week.

MaxPreps determines its regional matchup predictions based on the MaxPreps Computer Rankings presented by the Army National Guard. Care is also taken to avoid regional matchups between teams from the same section when possible. The team's record from last year and its preseason computer ranking are included in the preseason regional matchups.
