With a playoff win on the line, Rancho Alamitos rose to the challenge on Saturday. They snuck past the Western Christian Fighting Lancers with a 32-28 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Vaqueros, who have now won nine games in a row.
Several Fighting Lancers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Webster, who put up 11 points.
Rancho Alamitos pushed their record up to 14-11 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.4 points over those games. As for Western Christian, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-11.
Rancho Alamitos has already played their next match, a 48-27 loss against Santa Ana on the 19th. Western Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
