The Mifflin Punchers were the 41-37 winner over the Central Crossing Comets when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Mifflin lost to the Comets on the road by a decisive 60-43 margin on Saturday. Mifflin just can't catch a break and has now endured four defeats in a row.
Several Punchers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was John Glover, who scored 17 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bj Woody, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Mifflin's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Central Crossing, their victory bumped their record up to 5-12.
Mifflin will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Braves at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Whetstone's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups. As for Central Crossing, they and the Chieftains will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Logan is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
