Interlachen hasn't had much luck against Menendez recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Rams will challenge the Falcons at 6:30 p.m. Interlachen is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Belleview hit Interlachen with a five-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rams came up short against the Rattlers, falling 10-2. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Interlachen saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Davis, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Menendez beat Bolles 10-5 on Friday.
Ava Christman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Menendez got a massive performance out of Rylan Degrande, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs Degrande has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Emily Tobuck, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
Menendez hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.
Menendez's record now sits at 8-10. As for Interlachen, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.
Interlachen's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's match. The Rams have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Menendez, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Interlachen continue to outrun the ball?
Interlachen suffered a grim 18-8 defeat to Menendez in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
