Football Recap: Anoka Comes Up Short

When it comes to explaining why Anoka lost, don't look at Brody Rush. Despite the final result, he rushed for 300 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 57 receiving yards. With that strong performance, Rush is now averaging an impressive 103.2 rushing yards per game. Blake Sieben was another key player, throwing for 331 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 12.7 yards per attempt.

Joseph Mapson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Andover, rushing for 156 yards and four scores while picking up 8.7 yards per carry, and also throwing for 296 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Those 296 passing yards gave Mapson a new career-high. Andover's leading receiver Aidan Wiegert was Mapson's top target yet again, picking up 133 receiving yards and two TDs.

Anoka is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5. As for Andover, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
