Softball Recap: Alameda Wins Going Away Against Lincoln

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Arvada, Alameda was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 26-5 margin over the Lincoln Lancers. Considering the Pirates have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Annalia Lucero made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Lucero was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, five runs, and one double. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (two).

In other batting news, Zila Bobian was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven stolen bases, and four runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (four). Peyton Trujillo was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with nine stolen bases and four runs.

Alameda always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .842. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Alameda has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Lincoln, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Coming up, Alameda will face off against Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln, they will square off against Kennedy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lancers will need to watch out since the Commanders have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
