Wyatt is 10-0 against the Parrots since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Wyatt Chaparrals will look to defend their home court against the Polytechnic Parrots at 7:30 p.m. Wyatt will be strutting in after a victory while the Parrots will be coming in after a defeat.
In what's become a running theme this season, Wyatt gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They put the hurt on South Hills with a sharp 44-22 win. The win was just what Wyatt needed coming off of a 64-35 defeat in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Polytechnic's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Arlington Heights 72-20. While losing is never fun, Polytechnic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1477th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 475th).
Sofia Castro put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 15 points. That was a full 75% of Polytechnic's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Wyatt pushed their record up to 15-11 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Polytechnic, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Wyatt against the Parrots when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 58-17 win. Will Wyatt repeat their success, or do the Parrots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
