The home team had won the previous three meetings between Miramonte and Albany, and Albany kept the tradition alive. The Matadors fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 2-1 on Monday. The Matadors haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Miramonte saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Casey Yung, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Ian Hughes also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Miramonte's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Albany, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Miramonte will square off against San Rafael at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Albany, they will take on Saint Mary's at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
