The Deer Valley Wolverines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 77-24 loss at the hands of Heritage. Deer Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-17.
Heritage was led to victory by Ze'ni Patterson and Tahtyiana Doss. Patterson scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Doss scored 16 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Doss has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gelenna Smithers, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Deer Valley's loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Heritage, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.
Deer Valley will head out on the road to challenge the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Liberty will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Heritage, they will be playing at home against the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pittsburg will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 669th, while the Patriots are ranked 149th).
