The Purchase Line Red Dragons will head out on the road to take on the Curwensville Golden Tide at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Purchase Line and 34 for the Golden Tide dating back to last season.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 66-35, which was the final score in Purchase Line's tilt against the Wildcats on Friday.
Anna Layden put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Weaver, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Curwensville was beaten by the Warriors 49-18 on Thursday.
Purchase Line's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Curwensville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-16.
Everything came up roses for Purchase Line against the Golden Tide when the teams last played back in January of 2021 as the squad secured a 73-12 victory. With Purchase Line ahead 47-10 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
