The Jay Royals will head out on the road to square off against the Pace Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Jay has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Jay came out on top against Tate on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Royals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Aggies. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Royals have posted since March 3rd.
Mylee Frazier was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Presley Hawthorne, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Pace came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Vikings an 11-0 shutout. Considering the Patriots have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Hannah DeMarcus looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than 12 strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gracie Ueberroth, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamryn Pierce, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
Pace hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.
Jay's record is now 6-4. As for Pace, their record now sits at 13-1.
Jay couldn't quite finish off Pace in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 and fell 3-1. Can the Royals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
