Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Loyalton). They blew past the Elk Creek Elks, posting a 63-30 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Grizzlies considering their 24-point performance the game before.

Loyalton was led to victory by Josie Petterson and Catherine Petterson. Josie posted 13 points along with eight steals and five rebounds, while Catherine earned 14 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. Josie has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Ellie Weaver was another key player, putting up ten points along with five boards and four steals.

Loyalton pushed their record up to 5-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.3 points per game. As for Elk Creek, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Loyalton will challenge Plumas Charter at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Plumas Charter will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Loyalton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Elk Creek, they are taking a road trip to square off against Dunsmuir at 5:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
