Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory will be strutting in after a win while Saint Francis will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Valley Christian scored an imposing 61 points on Tuesday, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory still came out on top. Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory snuck past Valley Christian with a 65-61 win. The victory was just what Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory needed coming off of a 64-43 defeat in their prior match.
It was another big night for Fedrick Pernell, who scored 28 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Zemaury Erfe, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Saint Francis, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-46 loss to Serra on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Saint Francis can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 481st, while Serra is ranked 55th).
Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Saint Francis, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-18.
Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Saint Francis in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 58-52 victory.
