Basketball Game Preview: Argonaut Mustangs vs. Amador Buffaloes

Argonaut has gone 8-2 against Amador recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Argonaut Mustangs will look to defend their home court against the Amador Buffaloes at 5:30 p.m. Amador took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Argonaut, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Argonaut didn't have too much trouble with Rosemont as they won 61-47. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Argonaut to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alayna Critchfield, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 17 rebounds. Critchfield is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Brynn Begovich, who posted 17 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.

Argonaut smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Amador was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 24-19 to El Dorado. The Buffaloes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Argonaut's victory bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Amador, their loss dropped their record down to 14-13.

Argonaut didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Amador when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 30-26 win. Will Argonaut repeat their success, or does Amador have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
