After a string of three wins, the Clovis East Timberwolves's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 59-35 walloping at the hands of Monache. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Clovis East has scored all season.
Monache's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was London Haynes, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Alisha Verdejo, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
Clovis East's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Monache, their win was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1.
Clovis East and Porterville will face off at 4:00 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Porterville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 425th, while Clovis East is ranked 123rd). Monache and Righetti will face off at 5:30 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Righetti's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
