With a playoff win on the line, Athenian rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They blew past the San Francisco Waldorf Wolverines 19-2. Considering the Owls have won ten matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Darren Rosenberg was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Ishaan Srivastav was incredible, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Jack Kaminsky was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
Athenian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Francisco Waldorf only posted an OBP of .348.
