Basketball Recap: Pacheco Drops Season-High Score on Golden Valley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pacheco). They were the clear victor by a 54-33 margin over the Golden Valley Cougars on Saturday. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 21 points or more this season.

Leading Pacheco to victory were Mary Tava and Sasha Siemiller. Tava dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards, while Siemiller dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten steals. Tava is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Nikki Nance, who posted three points in addition to seven rebounds and four blocks.

Pacheco has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Golden Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Pacheco and Ripon will round out the year against one another at at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Ripon will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Pacheco surely won't give up without a fight. As for Golden Valley, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Oakdale at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
