The Swett Warriors will square off against the Athenian Owls at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Swett is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top against Point Arena by a score of 7-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Adan Miranda and Michael Golden made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Miranda tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Golden kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Swett is 9-0-2 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 4-6 otherwise. At the plate, Miranda went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Golden got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Golden has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jayden Barker, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of James Gibson, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Swett hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Point Arena struck out 11 times.
Meanwhile, Athenian entered their tilt with Cloverdale on Saturday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Eagles.
Wyatt Poage was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.
Swett's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Athenian, their win bumped their record up to 14-11.
