Abigail Gonzalez had a dynamite game for Borrego Springs, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Gonzalez scored 15 or more points. Joanna Johns was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Calexico Mission's loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4. As for Borrego Springs, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-10.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Warner the next time they take the court. Borrego Springs will host Warner at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while Calexico Mission will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
