Academy for Academic Excellence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell just short of Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy by a score of 7-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Academy for Academic Excellence of the 9-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture last Tuesday.
Garrett Morrison put in work while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. Morrison was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with a stolen base and two RBI.
