On Friday Maple Lake take on Holdingford at 7:00 PM. Maple Lake don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
After having lost a blowout in their contest two weeks ago against Pierz, Maple Lake were happy to find some success last Friday. Maple Lake put the hurt on Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted with a sharp 37-8 win. The high-flying offensive effort was a definite turnaround from Maple Lake's flat performance the match before.
Meanwhile, after a dominant victory in their matchup two weeks ago, Holdingford were humbled. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 20-50 punch to the gut against Paynesville. The blowout was painful but not necessarily a suprise as Paynesville enjoys a considerable advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
Maple Lake's victory lifted them to 3-1 while Holdingford's loss dropped them down to 1-3. We'll find out if Maple Lake can add another positive mark to their record or if Holdingford can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Maple Lake's step.
