The Coast Union Broncos will be home for the holidays to greet the Santa Maria Saints at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Coast Union was fully in charge, breezing past Maricopa 47-6 at home. The win was just what Coast Union needed coming off of a 50-13 defeat in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Santa Maria waltzed into their contest Tuesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They came out on top against Lompoc by a score of 64-51. Santa Maria's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Santa Maria got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alyssa Reyes out in front who scored nine points along with nine assists and seven steals. Those nine assists set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Madrigal , who scored 11 points along with five steals and three blocks.
The victory got Coast Union back to even at 1-1. As for Santa Maria, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3.
Coast Union came up short against Santa Maria in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 43-34. Thankfully for Coast Union, Yuridia Ramos-Razo (who scored 14 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
