The Wilmington Greyhounds's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Sharpsville Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Wilmington will be strutting in after a win while Sharpsville will be coming in after a loss.
In what's become a running theme this season, Wilmington gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Greenville 51-21 on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-6.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Sharpsville's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 60-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sharon. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Lily Palko, who scored 26 points. Another player making a difference was Macie Steiner, who scored 19 points.
Wilmington has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Sharpsville, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Everything came up roses for Wilmington against Sharpsville in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 66-27 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wilmington since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
