The Temecula Prep Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 22 points or more this season. They blew past Nuview Bridge 52-29. With Temecula Prep ahead 37-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Temecula Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Abby Bennett led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Bennett set a new season high mark in blocks with seven. Isabelle Alvarado was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight assists and eight rebounds.
The win got Temecula Prep back to even at 7-7. As for Nuview Bridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.
Temecula Prep will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School at 5:00 p.m. on January 9th. Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 16 points in their last eight games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Nuview Bridge will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Santa Rosa Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 9th.
