The Mission Oak Hawks were the 43-33 winner over the Bullard Knights when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Mission Oak ended up on the wrong side of a rough 61-39 walloping at the hands of Bullard on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mission Oak has scored all season.
Mission Oak lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Isabella Zepeda, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Aiyana Murray was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Mission Oak's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2. As for Bullard, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mission Oak is on the road again on Friday and play against Morro Bay at 6:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Morro Bay is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games. As for Bullard, they will head out on the road to face off against Buchanan at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Buchanan is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
