Softball Recap: First Presbyterian Day Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

First Presbyterian Day put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the John Milledge Academy Trojans get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Vikings, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Lyric Jones made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in September of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Arnold, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

First Presbyterian Day's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for John Milledge Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

First Presbyterian Day wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-2 win against Windsor Academy on the 26th. Hopefully John Milledge Academy paid attention to the Vikings' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
