The North Star Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Bishop Carroll Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Star is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
North Star suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Monday. They took a serious blow against Berlin Brothersvalley, falling 54-18. While losing is never fun, North Star can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 558th, while Berlin Brothersvalley is ranked 114th).
Bishop Carroll has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They took down Somerset 55-40 on Monday.
North Star bumped their record down to 3-11 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.3 points per game. As for Bishop Carroll, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8.
North Star was dealt a bruising 60-29 loss at the hands of Bishop Carroll when the teams last played back in January of 2017. Can North Star avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
