The Nitro Wildcats have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the South Charleston Black Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Nitro is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Black Eagles in West Virginia (the Wildcats are ranked ninth, while the Black Eagles are ranked 82nd).
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, a fact Nitro proved on Friday. They came out on top against Charleston Catholic by a score of 51-38.
Natalie Smith was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Brooklyn Cawley was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, South Charleston's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 64-27 loss at the hands of St. Albans.
Nitro's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.9 points per game. As for South Charleston, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.
