The Loranger Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Hammond Tornadoes at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
Last Tuesday, Loranger came up short against Doyle and fell 59-49. Loranger has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Hammond was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Sumner 77-45 at home. The victory was just what Hammond needed coming off of a 60-30 loss in their prior contest.
Hammond can attribute much of their success to Trendan Spears, who scored 18 points along with 7 assists and 3 steals, and Charles Armstrong, who scored 17 points along with 5 assists and 5 steals. Another player making a difference was Joseph Carbo, who scored 8 points along with 6 steals.
Denham Springs' win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Loranger's loss dropped theirs to 1-1.
Loranger strolled past Hammond when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a score of 78-63. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Hammond's Zach Staten, who scored 17 points. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Loranger to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
