The Loganville Christian Academy Lions will square off against the Dominion Christian Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with four losses in a row dating back to last season, Loganville Christian Academy turned things around against Peachtree Academy on Friday. They blew past the Panthers 16-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Lions have posted against the Panthers since February 27, 2018.
Loganville Christian Academy let Marshall Myers and Brooks Baldwin run wild. Myers scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1, while Baldwin scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. What's more, Myers posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Grayson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Dominion Christian sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over The Weber School on Wednesday.
Skye Jackson and Gabe Buckner made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Jackson struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Buckner tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. At bat, Jackson went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Buckner scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Buckner is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stole at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Canaan Bowen, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Those runs were his first of the season.
Dominion Christian pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.75 runs across that stretch. As for Loganville Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Loganville Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 8-2 defeat they got from Dominion Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2018. Can Loganville Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
