Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the California Condors, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 3-2. California was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rio Mesa apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.
This is the second loss in a row for California and nudges their season record down to 12-11-1. As for Rio Mesa, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6-6.
California does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rio Mesa is on the road again on Thursday and plays Arcadia at 5:00 p.m. on February 8th. Arcadia will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Rio Mesa surely won't give up without a fight.
