Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Teyan Clerry, who picked up 55 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 88 yards. Flagstaff also got help from Will Carpenter, who showed off his sure hands for 118 receiving yards.
Paradise Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaleb Simmons out in front who rushed for 209 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. Those 209 rushing yards gave Simmons a new career-high. Alonzo Gonzales was another key player, picking up 254 receiving yards and three scores.
Flagstaff dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Paradise Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Coming up, Flagstaff will host Lee Williams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Eagles' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Paradise Valley, they will head out to face off against Cactus Shadows at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,025 yards in their previous games.
