Union Grove has gone 9-1 against Hampton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wolverines will host the Hornets at 5:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Hampton will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Union Grove extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday. The Wolverines blew past McIntosh 10-4. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.
Sarah Glass looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jada Jackson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Hunter, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Union Grove hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 14 consecutive matchups.
Hampton never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Stockbridge on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 24-11 victory. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.
Aaliyah Davis made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Davis was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her six plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Hampton got a massive performance out of Mckenzie Goforth, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Goforth has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Briana Peugnet, who went 3-for-6 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.
Union Grove's victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Hampton, their win bumped their record up to 5-14.
Union Grove's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's contest. The Wolverines have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Hampton, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Union Grove continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Union Grove's way against Hampton when the teams last played back in September, as Union Grove made off with a 15-0 victory. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
