Placer is 1-9 against Oakmont since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Meanwhile, Oakmont waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Bruins. Considering the Vikings have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

At the plate, Beau Ogles was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ayden Dringenberg, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Placer is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Oakmont, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.
Placer came up short against Oakmont in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 3-0. Can the Hillmen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
