The Naugatuck Greyhounds will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Torrington Raiders at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Naugatuck's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
Naugatuck can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Woodland Regional 35-7 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 21-0.
Jett Hall continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 176 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and also throwing for 38 yards and a touchdown. Hall was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylin Martinez, who rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Torrington beat Waterbury Career Academy 18-14 on Friday.
Naugatuck's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-0. As for Torrington, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Everything came up roses for Naugatuck against Torrington in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 47-0 victory. Does Naugatuck have another victory up their sleeve, or will Torrington turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
