Patrick Henry's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ally Mangahis, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Cecelia Parker who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Parker has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Weisskopf, who scored four points along with ten rebounds.
Patrick Henry has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Mira Mesa, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Patrick Henry will face off against Mater Dei Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Mater Dei Catholic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Patrick Henry in California (Mater Dei Catholic is ranked 400th, while Patrick Henry is ranked 801st). Mira Mesa on the road again on Friday and play against San Diego at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th.
