Softball Recap: Pike County Has No Trouble Against Whitewater

Pike County barely beat Whitewater the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pirates blew past the Wildcats 11-1 on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won 15 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Pike County's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Whitewater, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-11.

Pike County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Whitewater, they will square off against McIntosh at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chiefs have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
