Softball Recap: Heritage Makes It Four in a Row at Home

With a playoff win on the line, Heritage rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Gilmer Bobcats as they made off with an 11-1 win. Considering the Generals have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Bailee Hollis made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landry White, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August. Ema Tanner was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Heritage's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-9. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Gilmer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-15.

Heritage will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bobcats: the pair will be back at it again later today.
